The NWSL Vote T-Shirt was created to urge all Americans to actively participate in our democracy and cast their ballot. Registering and voting has never been more important than it is now. The years on the back of the shirt represent significant voting laws passed in the US:
1870 – the 15th amendment was passed prohibiting the federal government and states from denying a citizen's right to vote based on race, color, or previous condition of servitude
1920 – the 19th amendment was passed granting women the right to vote
1965 – the voting rights act prohibits racial discrimination in voting
1971 – the 26th amendment lowered the voting age to 18
